About us: Habitat International Coalition (HIC) is committed to the recognition, defence, and realization of all peoples' right to a secure place to live in peace and dignity. The Housing and Land Rights Network (HLRN) is one of HIC's thematic structures. HLRN has it s coordination office in Cairo, which also houses the Middle East and North Africa Programme. HLRN also operates through initiatives in Latin America and sub-Saharan Africa.

HLRN in New Delhi coordinates the South Asian Regional Programme (SARP), working with groups in India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Burma, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Tibet, and Nepal SARP focuses on the housing and land rights of people facing eviction, research on women's right to adequate housing and building solidarity for children's right to housing through its research, capacity building and advocacy initiatives. SARP has documented cases of housing and land rights violations and advocated for solutions within the human rights framework. SARP has taken its analyses and advocacy to various international bodies, including The UN, to press for better international human rights instruments.
